LAPHROAIG FOUR OAK IS A SMOOTH EXPRESSION OF OUR ISLAY SINGLE MALT SCOTCH.
Made from spirit aged in four types of barrels, it’s a complex and full-bodied dram. Spirit is hand-selected from ex-Bourbon barrels, small quarter casks and large European oak hogsheads. A unique addition to the blend is whisky aged in virgin American oak.

A new innovation for Scotch whisky, the new oak lends powerful aromas of vanilla to this extraordinary peated Islay single malt. This complements the flavors of stewed fruit and the unmistakable medicinal, smoky notes that make Laphroaig so unique. Serve it as it is, or add a few cubes of ice.

RICH AND SMOOTH FLAVOURED
Smooth and complex, Laphroaig Four Oak combines single malt Scotch aged in a variety of oak barrels. Each one imparts its own unique character to the richly flavored blend. Notes of stewed fruit are complemented by warm, toasted vanilla underpinned by the signature Laphroaig taste of smoke and seaweed. Serve it neat or with a couple of ice cubes.

Our master distillers hand select the spirit used to make Laphroaig Four Oak from a number of barrels, which rest in our storehouse on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.

POWERFUL TASTE
First are the ex-Bourbon barrels, which we gently toast before filling to impart charred flavors to our distinctive single malt whisky. Next are the large European oak hogsheads, where the whisky gently matures, and then our traditional 19th-Century style quarter casks. These smaller barrels allow the spirit more contact with the wood, which softens it to develop a velvety texture.

As an innovative touch, our Four Oak single malt also includes whisky aged in virgin American oak. This isn’t typical in Scotch whisky making, and lends powerful notes of vanilla to the blend. By combining four maturation styles, this Islay single malt showcases techniques developed over more than two centuries by generations of master distillers.

NOSE Aromas of peat smoke with stewed fruit and warm, toasted vanilla.

FINISH Salted liquorice and peaty.

PALATE Hints of sandalwood, pine, fir and willow, experience oak embers and seaweed with smooth buttercream.
