Glenfarclas 40 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Singapore is a 700mL whisky with 46% Alcohol By Volume (ABV) from Scotland sold by Bevbrands Singapore.

The spirit was first released in 2010 to coincide with the Spirit of Speyside festival, and has since become one of the most sought-after drams in its age group.

Glenfarclas doesn’t spend much on marketing or flashy design – nearly everything is reinvested in making the best possible whisky. This approach reaches its zenith this dram, a glorious offering, which has been aged for no less than four decades in sherry casks.

The dram offers up notes of rich fruit cake and walnut, accompanied by prunes, raisins, sultanas, bitter cocoa, honeyed malt, tobacco, figs, maple syrup, dark oak, leather, rich spice, boiled sweets, creamy coffee, rancio and marmalade.

An astonishing achievement. The dram is bottled at 43% ABV for a little extra body and warmth. Rather pleasingly, the box is designed like the distillery’s famous warehouse doors.

TASTING NOTES
COLOUR – Autumn gold.

NOSE – The Glenfarclas 40 years old, now at 43%, has a fresh sweetness and fruity Turkish delight aroma on the nose. Its freshness and power is similar to the first time you open a bag of freshly ground Java coffee beans.

FLAVOUR – Sweet taste, followed by a peppering of caramel and chocolate explosions. Sherry power creeping its way to the back of your mouth releasing dark chocolate, raisins and sultanas.

FINISH – It ends with a sweet, crisp, dry & lingering finish.
